Super Eagles star scores twice in Rotherham 1st away win
Super Eagles star Semi Ajayi scored twice in Rotherham United 2-1 first away win over Queens Park Rangers 2-1 at Loftus Road on Wednesday night.
The 25-year-old started his 37th consecutive league appearance for the visitors but opened the scoring with a stunning strike from 25 yards which fizzed beyond R’s goalkeeper Joe Lumley in the 71st minute
The hosts equalised 14 minutes later after Nahki Wells cross fell to Nigerian descent Bright Osayi- Samuel who slotted the ball past Millers goalkeeper Marek Rodak to make 1-1 But Ajayi scored Rotherham’s winner in the 95th minute as he headed in Anthony Forde’s free-kick to give his side their first victory over QPR for 68 years. However, the result sees Rotherham remain in the relegation zone on goal difference, while QPR stay in 18th, seven points above the drop.
Ajayi has now found back of the net 7 times in 40 appearances in all competition.
