The federal government of Nigeria has denied reports making the rounds that Leah Sharibu, last of the Dapchi schoolgirls recently abducted by Boko Haram insurgents, has been killed by her abductors.
The denial was issued by information minister Lai Mohammed on Sunday, February 10 in a statement sent to galantmedia.com.ng
Mohammed said the reports claiming Sharibu was dead is “absolute fake news”. The minister went on to accuse the opposition of wanting to score a cheap political point with the false reports.
